Gobble, Gobble

The numbers are in, the baskets have been delivered and, WOW, was our food drive successful. Thank you all for your generous contributions for this years Thanksgiving food drive. The food collected helped provide holiday meals for families here at Lake Louise and throughout the Clover Park School district.

Remember that Wednesday is a half day this week (no PM kindergarten). Have a safe and happy Turkey day and we'll see you next week!

One month down, Eight to go

The back-to-school season is now officially over and the hum drum routine of the rest of the school year has set in. We have held our first parent night, completed our Fall Fundraiser, begun Popcorn Fridays, and kicked-off our first Box Tops Campaign already. The board has developed a habit of meeting for work parties on Wednesday and Friday mornings. Please come by and help us if you can. We are sorting through memberships and box tops and fundraiser packets at the moment but as the year progresses there will be many interesting things to do.

If you haven't already joined the PTA please follow the link on the bottom left under documents-PTA Membership. Simply print it, fill it out and return it to school with your student. The classroom with the most PTA memberships will earn an ice-cream party. If you own a business consider joining as a business member for free advertising in the PTA newsletter all year long.

Speaking of newsletters, watch for the first edition of the PTA newsletter due out next week. It will be sent home with students and will include everything you need to keep you in the know.

Back-to-School Night a great success

Thanks to all the parents who stopped by the PTA room on Tuesday night; we enjoyed meeting you! The first day of school was great and it was fun to see how excited the kids (and the parents) were to be back. We invite you to come back to the PTA room anytime you are on campus. Inside you will find information on upcoming events, a coffee pot and microwave, and a place to sit and work on projects for the PTA or your children's classrooms.

Next Monday, September 8th, we will be having a small work party from 1:30-2:30 pm in the parent room. We are preparing Campbells Soup Labels for submission and putting up window decorations in the cafeteria. If you would like to stop by and join us we would love your company.

No matter where your talents or interests lie, there's a place for you in PTA

PTA is:
            • A voice for children.
            • A resource for families and the community.
            • An advocate for the education and well-being of every child.
Lake Louise PTA accomplishes this by:
  • Supporting parents in developing the skills to raise, protect, and advocate for their children.
  • Encouraging parent and community involvement.
  • Speaking on behalf of children in the school and the community.

Back to School

It has been a fun and eventful summer. Lots of sun, walks to the lake, days at the playground and fun with homemade slip-n-slides and popsicles. A few short weeks from now it will be over. On September 3rd we will be welcoming the kids home from their first day back to school.

Of course, back to school is always full of fun and excitement too. Here on the PTA board we've been working hard to make sure of it. We have plans for popcorn days, family nights, school wide activities, book fairs, guest speakers, and more.

So please keep in contact this year; we don't want you to miss anything. Check this blog, your monthly PTA newsletter or the bulletin board in the PTA room often. See you soon!
