Box Tops Campaign going on now!

We're smack-dab in the midst of our annual Fall Box Tops Campaign. Have you been saving those Box Tops all summer long? Do you have unclipped Box Tops in your pantry? Does gramma, auntie or your next door neighbor have a few Box Tops they wouldn't mind handing over?

Box Tops are a quick, cheap and simple way to get money for our school. The money pays for family events throughout the year including our Dr Seuss Birthday party, Muffins with Mom and Donuts with Dad. All these events have food, prizes and pictures FREE for all Lake Louise families.

Thank you for your help collecting Box Tops and making these events possible for you and other families. The last day to turn in Box Tops is this Friday!

The PTA also collects Labels for Education and Tysons labels throughout the year. You may turn them in at any time.

Last Call For Fundraiser

Friday, October 2nd was the last day of our Cookie Dough/Discount Card fundraiser. So far we have collected $17,000 in orders with more trickling in every day!

Please, if you have an order still at home, have it in to the school no later than 9am on Tuesday morning.

The fundraiser has been a huge success nearly tripling last year's gross sales! Thank you so much for your participation and continued support of Lake Louise Elementary School and the PTA.

Remember to mark your calendar for Cookie dough/Discount card delivery on Friday, November 13th from 10am-1pm. This is a half day during conference week. Small orders of 1 or 2 boxes can be sent home with students but large orders will need to be picked up by parents. Thank you.

If your student earned the Thunderbash and/or the Limo Ride to lunch mark their calendar for December 11th. More information and permission slips will be sent home before Thanksgiving break.

Chippery Cookie Dough Sale

As many of you know, our PTA sponsors many activities to enrich the educational experience of our students. Several of these activities require a large financial commitment which makes fundraising necessary. Our PTA is proud to be partnering with Big Kahuna this fall to run a fundraising campaign.

The program we have selected is a cookie dough/discount ticket combo sale.

You have 8 flavors of award-winning cookie dough to choose from. The cookie dough is The Chippery brand, which is the gourmet division of Otis Spunkmeyer. Each has 48 frozen pre-portioned cookies. The boxes sell for $15 each. DELICIOUS!!!

The discount ticket features 7 local merchants (40 coupons total): Subway, Cutter’s Point Cove, Taco Del Mar, Cold Stone, Applebee’s Restaurant, Papa John’s Azteca Mexican Restaurant. This card has “buy one, get one free” discount offers and is good through October 2010. It sells for $15 and will pay for itself after a couple of uses. You start saving money after that!

In addition to the regular prize program, any student who sells 5 items or more will be invited to the Big Kahuna inflatable party! Any student who sells 15 itmes or more will be invited to the Big Kahuna “HUMMER LIMO” RIDE & LUNCH (which includes the inflatable party too)! The Big Kahuna prize program is cumulative, so whatever prize they reach, they get all the prizes under that as well.

Your participation is greatly needed!! We are raising money for field trips, assemblies, and classroom equipment. Every student at Lake Louise Elementary will benefit from this fundraiser! If every student sells 5 items we will meet our financial goal. Look for more information coming home September 14th. The sale dates are September 14th through October 2nd.

Your assistance in helping your student with this fundraising program is greatly appreciated. Our goal is not only to raise needed money but to keep this short, simple and fun. We thank you in advance for helping to make this campaign a great success!

Save Tyson labels to make money

In case you haven't yet heard PTA has a goal this year to send every student on an all-expense-paid field trip. Wow! Isn't that exciting! We think so. To do this we need to raise at least $4000.

Tyson foods will give our school 24 cents for every label we send in. Do you buy Tyson Any'tizers or Chicken Strips or even canned meat? All of them have a Tyson A+ label. Clip that label and send it to school with your student.

Here are two examples of what needs to be clipped and sent in:

We also collect Box Tops for Education and Campbell's Labels for Education. More on that next week!

Parents are the heart of PTA

Parents are the first and most important part of any good PTA. At Lake Louise our PTA is small and trying to grow. We want your help to continue offering the great programs and supplements our school needs to create the best learning environment possible for our students.

Please consider joining PTA next school year. After you join set a goal of coming to at least one meeting and helping at one event.

In turn PTA will help you get to know your children and their classmates better, develop a trusting relationship with staff, get to know other parents and, most importantly, PTA will help you feel like you are a part of the great Lake Louise Community.

Visual art, photography and literature entries from Clover Park students participating in the 2008-2009 PTA Reflections Program will be on display. Welcome 2009

We are so glad tobe back to school and to see all the bright and shiny faces of the children and teachers. The Reflections entries were turned in several weeks ago and we are looking forward to hearing how our student entries fare at the next level. The students who participated in the Shop and Drop had a great time and we hope to do more events like it soon. There will be a PTA meeting next week. Please check the calendar below to get the details. We would love to see you there to help us plan our upcoming events.

Reflections Arts Program returns to Lake Louise

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and a Washington State PTA cultural arts competition. The purpose for this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works, created around a specific theme. This year's theme is "Wow!"

Our students did a great job! Four of the Visual Art entries will go on to be judged at the Council Level.

One Musical Composition entry, "Grand Theme" by Afton Dooley, will also move to the next level of Judging.
